Stephanie has lived in beautiful Jasper National Park for the last 9 years and plans to settle here with her husband Jeff and pets (Indie, Ru and Heuco). Living in this wonderful place has sparked a new found love for the outdoors. Stephanie always has something on the go and is a very active person whether she is out for a hike, climbing, teaching fitness classes or running. She started taking yoga classes in 2004 when someone told her that it would be a great compliment to climbing, she was instantly hooked from the first class. After 4 years of developing her own practice she decided to obtain her Yoga Teacher Certificate in Costa Rica from the Nosara Yoga Institute (www.nosarayoga.com) and is continuing her education to become a Registered 500 hour Professional Yoga Educator. She is also a certified YogaDance Teacher and Pranassage Practitioner and teaches Group and Pre & Post Natal Fitness. In her search for more knowledge about the body and how it works she decided to become a personal trainer through CAN FIT PRO and is currently adding to this certification by taking her Personal Training Diploma through NAIT.
Stephanie's focus is on making fitness accessible and enjoyable, while helping her clients improve their overall health. Depending on individual goals and the client's fitness level, her exercise sessions may be comprised of advanced functional training, cardio conditioning, and flexibility. Her classes invite students to challenge themselves with humour and compassion, and to find their own practice through awareness of body, breath and mind.

- Yoga

Now, the discipline of Yoga. Yoga means to unite. When I think about yoga, I think about the union of the breath, the body and the mind. Often people dismiss yoga because they think it’s a glorified way to stretch but even taking a beginner class can prove to be very challenging. You may start a yoga program for better flexibility or because of your doctor‘s recommendation but soon you learn that there is much more to the practice.

What can yoga do for me?
- Yoga improves balance, sleep patterns, lung function, aerobic capacity and relaxation.
- Yoga enhances your posture, coordination and mental focus.
- Yoga can reduce injuries, stress and symptoms of many chronic diseases such as arthritis, diabetes and thyroid disorders.

Nervous about trying yoga in a group setting?
There are many forms of yoga available to us today and sometimes it gets confusing where to start. Private yoga sessions are an excellent way to achieve the benefits of yoga, track your individual progress, and save time by never having to leave home. Each yoga class is designed specifically for you, and will focus on exercises for your body type, taking into consideration your fitness level, stress level, and your personal health and goals. Experience a yoga class with a teacher that is there to support your growth throughout your practice and allow you to go deeper into each asana (posture).
Sessions are private and confidential. You can choose the day and time of your sessions and they can take place in the comfort of your own home or at the yoga studio.

- Pranassage Treatment
Pranassage is a creative synthesis of yoga and bodywork that produces deep relaxation in the receiver. Pranassage is an engaging and efficient option for those who want to deepen the effects of yoga. It appeals to people with no previous yoga experience, as well as the seasoned practitioner of yoga or other active forms of body-mind integration, because it provides tailored personal support for going to your next level.
The practitioner will physically move your body into a flow of positions that allow you to feel each position from the inside out. As your practitioner begins to shift your body into movements and positions, you will have the opportunity to witness some forgotten possibilities for motion and action that provide balance and relief throughout every part of your being. Being moved in this way allows you to watch with awareness and without having to exert any effort. The brain-mind mechanism that determines our ability to move is beneath our conscious control. When we slow down to watch and feel how our body can move into positions in ways that do not require effort, the movement patterning mechanism gets re-educated and neurologically reorganizes to replace inefficient patterns with fluid, harmonious and efficient movements.
As the client, it is recommend arriving in loose fitting clothing or stretchy pants and a comfortable t-shirt or top. Since this is a form of yoga practise it is advised not to eat a large meal 1-3 before your treatment.
